The telecommunications industry has moved rapidly from traditional circuit-switched networks toward IP-based communication. At the heart of many modern telecom networks is the Softswitch, a software-based switching system that manages voice and multimedia communication over IP networks. It helps service providers control calls, manage signaling, connect subscribers, and integrate traditional telephony with next-generation communication infrastructure. Because Softswitch technology can interact with telecom networks and handle critical communication functions, regulatory compliance is an important consideration for manufacturers and suppliers planning to introduce such equipment in India. The Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) framework provides the regulatory mechanism for evaluating telecom products against applicable technical requirements. Understanding MTCTE Certification for Softswitch in India is therefore important for manufacturers, importers, tel...

As the telecom infrastructure in India continues to develop and grow, regulatory compliance has become a key prerequisite for manufacturers and importers of telecom equipment. To regulate the quality of telecom products, the Government of India has put in place the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) program. The program ensures that the telecom products comply with certain criteria in terms of safety, performance, EMC, and network security before they are released for use in India. Telecom products covered by this regulatory program include ISDN Gateways. They are responsible for facilitating communication between ISDN and IP based communications. As ISDN Gateways operate on public telecom infrastructure, it is mandatory for manufacturers, importers, and sellers of the product to get MTCTE Certification before making such products available in India. This guide provides all the information that manufacturers, importers, and brand owners will need in order ...
